my latest update is - have converted the AVI files to SVI and transferred them to my player, when I try to open the DVD'S - it shows as "This is an unsupported file".

Hi all,

Yes, converting video files into SVI files is not easy.

But I have found the trick.

The secret is that you must first make sure that you convert the video file you would like to view on your Samsung device to an .avi file, but using the 'Xvid MPEG4 Codec': preferably choose the 'YouTube preset'. (You can do this by using MoVaVi video converter.)

Once you have created such .avi file with Xvid MPEG4 codec, you simply use eMoDio to convert this new file into *.svi format. That will work. (Only then you will not get the message 'unsupported video format'.)

Try it!

In case you would like to convert a .flv (Flash Video) file into .svi, please note that MoVaVi does not support this file type, but you can convert .flv into .avi using Ultra MP4 Converter. (Here you must also select the Xvid Codec to be successful!)

So in the end it's very simple: you must always make sure that you first convert any video file into an .avi file, using the Xvid MPEG4 codec before you can use eMoDio to reach your target: creating the .svi file you can really view on your Samsung device. I agree: it's a bit of a rigmarole, but hey, at least you can get it done now!

Good luck with that!

Cheers, Matt.

1. install Any Converter Video
2. Install EmoDio
3. Convert file using Any Converter Video to .AVI and choose 220 x 176 screen (YP-S3 screen) - it will be saved into some Xvid format I think (just like Matt said, it has something to do with Xvid?)
4. Convert .AVI file using EmoDio - right click - Convert Files or Transfer into Player
5. If the dialog box is popped out, don't forget to install codec first, otherwise you can't convert the file to .SVI

I finally made it, hope it works!

it should be working in australia. i think the problem is that you haven't install the codec09 beta, have you?
when i first install emodio, i forgot to install codec and it closed several times without converting.
if you right-click and choose convert file - a dialog box will appear and on top of it, you'll find a message to install codec09 beta, just click install then everything should be okay.
