velodyne cht-8r subwoofer

Im hoping someone can help with some info.My sub has just started emitting sound without the amp connected being turned on.Sub is plugged into wall socket and only way to stop noise is to turn it off.It takes about 5 min to come back after turning it off for a while.Can someone help please.
