Microsoft programs failing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

iv been using vista about 2 years now and never had a single problem then all of a sudden...windows media player, windows movie maker, internet explorer and other Microsoft apps stop responding soon after launching.

i found alternative programs for most of them but now windows explorer stops responding every so often

Norton 360 says i don't have a virus or anything

what is wrong with my computer????

First of all I would run this sfc /scannow.
Click start/run then type in sfc /scannow noting the space after sfc
Have your OS CD handy incase you are asked for it.

Also run chkdsk.

Also I would log onto eldergeek XP (yes I kow you have Vista) and post a hijack log. There is a set of instruction on how do this on that
