Browsers freezing intermittently

I am coming across this problem on my desktop PC at work. It all started last week when I tried to upgrade my attaching software on Yahoo mail but I'm not sure if this is just coincidence.

Basically, my browser (both Firefox and IE) keeps freezing intermittently. It will be ok for a few mere moments but then freezes and takes a minute to two to go back to normal, before returning to frozen again. If I try to click on something when it's frozen, I get the 'Not Responding' message in the top bar.

You could try setting the computer back to the last known good configeration. To do this turn computer off. Now switch it on again and immediately begin tapping the f8 key and then select set computer back to the last know good configeration when options are displayed.
If this fails it could be a network connection problem.
